Our Team

Named CEO in 2024, Liz Cheron, a national voice in the field of admissions, brings more than 15 years of experience leading and consulting on admissions and enrollment strategy, including 13 years at Coalition member Northeastern University, where she served as assistant vice president of enrollment and dean of admissions. In 2022, she founded Strategic Education & Enrollment Solutions (SEE Solutions), a consultancy focused on partnering with colleges and universities on solutions and innovations related to enrollment management, marketing, retention, and the development of new programs. Liz earned her bachelor’s degree from Boston College and her master’s degree in higher education administration from Northeastern University.

Claudia Aviles, our program manager, previously served as a high school placement counselor at a charter middle school in the Bronx, where she assisted students and families navigating the high school application process. Since graduating from Colby College, Claudia has worked in counseling and admissions. She was a college counseling fellow at the American Farm School in Thessaloniki Greece, an admissions officer at the non-profit organization, Prep for Prep, and an assistant director of admissions for diversity and outreach initiatives at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She is currently pursuing her master’s in school counseling at Lehman College.

Jalil Davis, our technology and CRM manager, previously served as the CRM integration specialist for undergraduate admissions at Muhlenberg College, where he served as the primary departmental information expert, responsible for the configuration, coordination, and daily management of the enrollment CRM. With 10 years of experience in higher education, he has become an integral part of revamping processes, creating efficiencies in data management, and developing support systems for college applicants. Jalil earned his bachelor's degree from Temple University and an MBA from Drexel University.

Christine DeLong, our content manager, previously served as assistant director of undergraduate admissions at Drexel University, where she recruited and supported students through the college application process. Her content creation experience stems from her work within the start-up environment as well as within higher education. Christine earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in marketing from Drexel University. 

Derek Terrell, our director of engagement, previously served as associate director of undergraduate admissions at Caltech, where he led diversity and inclusion efforts and the development of their inaugural counselor advisory board. His over 10 years of experience in higher education spans admissions, student engagement, and residential life. A graduate of Hope College, Derek earned his master’s in Higher Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and his Ed.D. in educational leadership at UCLA.

Amanda Waite, our director of communications and partnerships, previously served as creative communications director at the University of Vermont, where she led the efforts of the central office and guided the work of communicators across campus in telling the university's story. She draws on fifteen years of higher education communications experience across traditional and emerging media to help the Coalition connect with its audiences. Amanda earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in English from the University of Vermont.
