2022 In Review
Stacey Kostell, Chief Executive Officer
It’s been a pivotal year for the Coalition for College, one marked by innovation and growth.
From launching a new application to completing a strategic planning process, the work we’ve undertaken has been foundational and transformative.
As always, our work is made possible through collaboration and partnerships, and we’re so grateful to all who made this pivotal year possible.
Please read on for a look back at some of the highlights from 2022 to see all the ways the Coalition for College helps more students see college in their future and provide them with the tools and information to achieve their goals.
Our new application
We began the year with a big announcement: a partnership with Scoir and Technolutions to build a new way to apply to college that streamlines the process for all.
Why the change?
By integrating our application within Scoir, we saw an opportunity to deliver great college search tools to more students and help students complete more of the college-planning process in one place. Our organizations share a commitment to serving under-resourced students, and simplifying the act of applying means creating a more equitable process. “When you look at barriers to entry and access considerations, a lot of times the question is: 'How can you move the process close enough to where it's happening?' That may mean, instead of students coming to you, you need to come to them. It may mean finding the systems they're operating within, and meeting them right there so that you're creating a simpler process, and one that's quite frankly, more enjoyable.“
–Alexander Clark, founder and CEO of Technolutions, from the main stage at Slate Summit, on the benefits of our new application process.
